Port Restrictions

As soon as Rostov is a river port, there are few restrictions common for all type of vessels:

  • Maximum allowable air-draft of the vessel should not exceed 16,5m. If vessel willing to call Russian inner river ports, then air-draft of the vessel should not exceed 14m.
  • Due to river fluctuations, maximum allowable draft of the vessel should not exceed 4,2m. More often, it is reasonable to load vessel upto 3,7m (zero level of Azov-Don Marine Channel)

All vessels should be equipped with stern anchor

During winter navigation, there is additional age & ice-class restrictions. All vessels calling Azov, Rostov or Taganrog ports should be younger than 30 years (or have valid renovation certificate) and have ice-class according to current ice conditions in Azov sea/river Don.
